WJYL Under 11-16: Notes
for April/May Fixtures
Fixtures for Remainder of the Season
Teams may agree to play fixtures on earlier dates (e.g.
midweek) than on the date fixtured by agreement. Can the
home team please let the fixtures secretary know where such
arrangements are made.
If a game is brought forward to an earlier date, the referee
must be contacted to referee the rearranged game.
The league may insist on a team playing a fixture on an
available Sunday unless the team has requested an Open Date
on that day.
Where games are played on days other than a Sunday, the
home team should phone the result into:
Howard Fullelove (01543 372520) as soon
as possible.
Results of Sunday fixtures should be phoned in the usual
way.
All fixtures must be completed by Sunday May 25th.
If teams have difficulties finding a pitch, they should
make arrangements with the opposition to play at their venue
or seek an alternative venue. The league can provide contact
details for Walsall Council pitches.
Updated fixtures for May will be provided at the next meeting
on Thu April 24th.
Cup Finals
The following cup finals are scheduled.

They are being played at Goodrich, Stafford Road, Fordhouses,
Wolverhampton WV10 7EH. The ground is behind Goodrich Actuation
Systems which on the west side of the A449 about 800 yards
south of where it meets junction 2 of the M54. A service
road to the pitches leads around the right-hand side of
the factory.
There is a social club and bar which spectators are welcome
to use but there may be no light refreshments or food available.
Entry is £2 for over 16s. Kick-off at 7:30pm. Gate
open from 6:30pm.
Open Date Request Deadline
Requests for Open Dates in any month must be received by
the league at least 7 days before the fixture meeting when
fixtures for that month are distributed.
This means that requests for Open Dates in May must be received
by the fixtures secretary on or before Thursday April 17th.
Sundays in May that teams may need to be aware of
are:
May 4th - May Day Bank Holiday weekend and final Championship
games
Wolves vs Plymouth & QPR vs West Brom
May 11th - Final Premiership games - West Ham vs Villa &
Blues vs Blackburn
May 25th - Spring Bank Holiday weekend and Play-Off finals

below. This may cause problems due to their pitch sharing
arrangements. Unfortunately, this has proved unavoidable.

For most of the above fixtures, an away team should have
a venue available. Where the home team is unable to find
an alternative venue, they should arrange to play the fixture
at the opposition's venue where possible.
If teams are unable to find a venue for a fixture, they
should not call off the game but should contact the fixtures
secretary.
