Report
Walsall Junior Youth League have become one of only a handful of
leagues throughout the UK and the first in the Midlands area to have gained the prestigious League Charter Mark Status. This is in recognition of the high standard of organisation shown by the league committee and committed contribution from all member clubs in setting out a future plan for the league's development and adherence to FA guidelines. These plans are made to ensure the future development of playing facilities, coaches and players to enable all levels to gain enjoyment form the game. It also encompasses the
continued progress in improving the behaviour of all involved towards each other and importantly referees.
The Plan underpins the National and County FA strategies for grass roots football development throughout the local area and will be continually monitored and developed as improvements are achieved.
Dave Fenton, the leagues Charter Standard League Coordinator is seen receiving the award from Mr David Bathurst (Staffordshire FA President) on behalf of the hard working WJYL committee at a presentation evening held at Stoke City Football Club. Dave commented that the award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication to grass roots football that the WJYL has provided in it's 60 year existence and is testament to all committee members, and clubs, past and present who have been instrumental in developing the league to it's current position. We as a league wish to further develop in order to provide the highest quality in football provision it can be possible to attain for the youth of our region.
